Rucksack Minion
Materials
Yarn (recommended for crochet 4 mm)
Crochet hook size 4 mm
Stitch Markers

Instructions
Colour blue
ROW 1: 45 chains, 1 single crochet until end of row (in each
corner make 1 triple increase)
ROWS 2 – 15: Directly make 1 single crochet in order to start
each row. Mark the beginning of each row with a stitch marker.
Make 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row. Repeat
until the end of the rows.
Change of colour: yellow
ROWS 16 – 29: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the
previous row. Repeat until the end of the rows.
Change of colour: black
ROWS 30 – 31: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the
previous row. Repeat until the end of the rows.
Change of colour: yellow
ROWS 32 – 42: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the
previous row. Repeat until the end of the rows (note: row 42 is the only one that
I close with a slip stitch).
ROW 43: Go up with 3 chains and make 1 double crochet for
each stitch of the previous row.
ROWS 44 – 45: Go up with 1 chain and make 1 single crochet
for each stitch of the previous row.
Locate the back part of the rucksack
ROWS 46 – 47: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the
previous row. Repeat until the end of the rows.
ROWS 48 – 57: Go up with 1 chain, 1 decrease, make single
crochet, 1 decrease at the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows.
Make 1 single crochet all around.
Braid
Take 3 pairs of strands and make a braid crossing each other
and pressing them alternately, up to 78 cm long.
Insert the braid in the row where we’ve done the double
crochet.
Eye
Colour black
ROW 1: Make 1 magic ring of 12 single crochet. Close with a
slip stitch.
Change of colour: White
ROW 2: make 1 increase until the end of the row. Close with a slip stitch.
ROW 3: 1 single crochet and 1 increase until the end of the
row. Close with a slip stitch.
Change of colour: grey
ROW 4: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row. Close with a slip stitch.
Make another one identical.
Mouth
Make 1 chain of 15.
Pocket
ROW 1: Make 15 chains and 15 single crochet.
ROWS: 2 – 9: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous
row. Repeat until the end of the rows.
Make single crochet all around.
Braces (2)
ROW 1: Make 1 chain of 80 and make 80 single crochet.
ROWS 2 – 4: Make 1 single crochet for each stitch of the
previous row. Repeat until the end of the rows.
Finishing the rucksack
1. Sew the eyes on the black stripe.
2. Sew the mouth under the eyes.
3. Take strands of black wool and pass it down the middle of
the rucksack’s lid, tie a knot and cut the excess wool.
4. Sew the pocket on the bottom (blue stripe).
5. Sew the braces on the back of the rucksack.
