Colour White

ROW 1: Make 10 single crochet inside magic ring.

Close the magic ring with 1 slip stitch

ROW 2: Make 1 increase (that is 2 single crochet in the same stitch) for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close row with 1 slip stitch.

ROW 3: Make 1 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Close row with 1 slip stitch.

ROW 4: Make 2 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Close row with 1 slip stitch.

ROW 5: Make 3 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Close row with 1 slip stitch.

ROW 6: Make 4 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Close row with 1 slip stitch.

ROW 7: Make 5 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Close row with 1 slip stitch.

Cut the yarn.

Colour change (red)

ROWS 10 - 14: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close row with 1 slip stitch. Repeat until the end of the rows.

Colour change (black)

ROWS 15 - 17: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close row with 1 slip stitch. Repeat until the end of the rows.

Colour change (red)

ROWS 18 - 23: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close row with 1 slip stitch. Repeat until the end of the rows.

Colour change (white)

ROWS 24 - 26: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close row with 1 slip stitch. Repeat until the end of the rows.

Cut the yarn.

BUCKLE   

Colour yellow

·         Make 24 chains and join them with 1 slip stitch in the first chain (make sure chain is not twisted).

·         Make 5 single crochet and 1 triple increase (that is 3 single crochet in the same stitch). Repeat until the end of the row.

·         Sew the buckle in the centre of the basket.

ARMS

Colour red

ROW 1: Make 10 chains and join them with 1 slip stitch in the first chain (make sure chain is not twisted).

ROWS 2 -15: Make 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker. Repeat until the end of the rows.

Colour change (white)

ROWS 16 – 17: Make 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker. Repeat until the end of the rows.

ROW 18: Make 2 single crochet, 1 decrease, 2 single crochet, 1 decrease, 2 single crochet, 1 decrease, 2 single crochet, 1 decrease. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 19: 1 single crochet and 1 decrease. Repeat until the end of the row.

Cut the yarn.

ROW 1: Go up with 3 chains, make 1 double crochet for each stitch of the chain.

ROWS 2 – 3: Go up with 3 chains, make 1 double crochet taking the double crochet from the previous row from the front part (front post double crochet). Make 1 double crochet taking the double crochet from the previous row from the back part (back post double crochet). Repeat sequence until end of row.

ROW 4: Go up with 3 chains, miss next 1 stitch and in the next stitch make 3 double crochet, miss next 1 stitch and in the next stitch make 1 double crochet. Repeat sequence until end of row.

ROWS 6 – 12: Go up with 1 chain, make 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row. Repeat until the end of the rows.   

ROW 13: Go up with 1 chain, make 1 single crochet in the same stitch, 2 increases, and keep making single crochet until the end of the row.

INSTRUCTIONS

 

Colour beige

ROW 1: Make chain of 54.

ROWS 2 - 23: Go up with 3 chains. Make 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row. Repeat until the end of the rows.

Front of the Jacket

Mark stitches 20 – 14 - 20

ROWS 1 - 22: Go up with 3 chains. Make 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row.

Repeat from row 1 to row 22 of the other half of the front.

Two Sleeves

Fold the knit from the front.

From the shoulders down count 8 rows and mark with 1 stitch marker.

Join the rest of the knit to the bottom of the jacket (each side) with single crochet

Finishes

Make single crochet all the way around the front of the jacket including the collar and bottom (beige colour)

Colour blue

ROW 1: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row all the way around (front part, collar and bottom part of the jacket) Close each row with a slip stitch.

ROW 2: Go up with 3 chains, make 1 double crochet taking the double crochet from the previous row from the back part (back post double crochet). Repeat the sequence until the end of the row. Close each row with a slip stitch.

Cut the yarn.

Locate the part of the collar and calculate the part that you want to be free, mark with stitch markers on each side making sure it is even.

ROW 3: Go up with 3 chains, make 1 double crochet taking the double crochet from the previous row from the back part (back post double crochet) until you get to the stitch markers.

ROW 4: Flip the piece from the other side, Go up with 3 chains, make 1 double crochet taking the double crochet from the previous row from the front part (front post double crochet). 

Sew the buttons to the coat.

Buttonhole

ROW 5: Make a single crochet to the other front part where the buttonholes will be made. Locate where the buttonholes should go and make 1 Slip stitch, then go up with 8 chains and insert the crochet in the same stitch make a slip stitch. Continue making single crochets as far as the next buttonhole goes and repeat the sequence.

ROW 1: Make 1 chain of 3, go up with 1 chain, 1 single crochet, 1 triple increase (that is 3 single crochet in the same stitch), 2 single crochet.

Locate and sew the eyes and the nose into the hat.

Fringes on the top of the hat

        Take 3 strands one yellow, one lilac and one beige

        Put the strands on the needle and locate where you want to make the fringes on the top of the hat

        Remove and insert the strands leaving them a bit long bit even. Do this same procedure four times

        Divide all the strands in two parts and make one knot

        Cut the yarns until they are even

        On the inside of the hat make one knot with the wool strands.

To form the mittens

1.        Fold the pieces in the row number 93 to make the mittens
2.       Join the pieces with a single crochet, so that the mittens are formed, and continue making single crochet around the scarf, including the hat.

Make another eye repeating the same pattern.

Nose (use 3.5mm crochet)

ROW 1: Make 1 chain of 6.

ROW 2: Go up with 1 chain, 5 single crochet, 1 triple increase, 4 single crochet, 1 increase. Close each row with a slip stitch.

ROW 3: Go up with 1 chain, 6 single crochet, 1 triple increase, 6 single crochet, 1 increase. Close each row with a slip stitch.

Cut the yarn.

ROW 1: Make 6 single crochet inside magic ring.

ROW 2: Directly Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker. 1 single crochet - 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 3: Directly Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.  2 single crochet - 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 4: Directly Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker. 3 single crochet - 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 5: Directly Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker. 3 single crochet, 2 increases, 5 single crochet, 2 increases, 3 single crochet.

ROW 6: Directly Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker. 4 single crochet, 1 increase, 9 single crochet, 1 increase, 4 single crochet.

ROW 7: Directly Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker. 5 single crochet, 1 increase, 9 single crochet, 1 increase, 5 single crochet.

ROWS 8 – 9: Directly Knit 1 single crochet in order to start each following row. Mark the beginning of each row with a stitch marker. 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows.

Row 9 is the only one that I close with a slip stitch.

Cut the yarn.

Make another ear repeating the same pattern.

Bow (4.0mm crochet) – make 3 bows

ROW 1: Make 1 chain of 24.

ROW 2: 24 single crochet.

ROW 3: Go up with 1 chain, 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.

ROWS 4 – 10: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows.

·         Make 10 chains and make 10 single crochet. Cut the yarn.
·         Join the piece with single crochet.
·         With a needle sew up to the other end of the piece while pressing the yarn.
·         Make a couple of rows with the yarn in the middle of the bow.
·         Put the 10 single crochet piece in the centre of the bow and sew it from the back of the bow.

Assemble the hat: 

·         Locate and sew the ears, the eyes and the nose into the hat
·         Sew a bow next to the ear and the other two bows in each mittens
·         Make 3 moustaches with black wool on each side of the face

Materials

Yarn (recommended for crochet 4mm)
Crochet hook (size 4mm) to make applique and nose
Crochet hook (size 3mm) to make eyes
Yarn needle 
Scissors



Instructions

Colour Lilac

ROW1: Make chain of 8. Go up with 3 chains, 6 double crochet, 5 double crochet in the same stitch, 7 double crochet.

ROW 2: Go up with 3 chains, 8 double crochet, 1 triple increase (that is 3 double crochet in the same stitch), keep making double crochet until the end of the row. 

ROW 3: Go up with 3 chains, 9 double crochet, 1 triple increase, keep making double crochet until the end of the row.   

Ears

ROW 1: Go up with 1 chain, 4 single crochet.

ROW 2: Go up with 1 chain, 4 single crochet.

ROW 3: Go up with 1 chain, 2 decreases.

ROW 4: Go up with 1 chain, 1 decrease.

Cut the yarn.

Do the same at the other end, from the top.

Make single crochet throughout the outline of the figure. Close row with a slip stitch.

Eyes (Crochet 3mm)

ROW 1: Make 12 double crochet inside magic ring.  Close row with a slip stitch.

ROW 2: 1 increase (that is 2 single crochet in the same stitch) for each stitch of the previous row. Close row with a slip stitch.  

Cut the yarn.

Draw the eyelashes with the needle and black yarn.

Make another eye repeating the same pattern.

Nose (yellow)

ROW 1: Make chain of 3, Go up with 1 chain, 1 single crochet, 1 triple increase, 2 single crochet.
Sew the eyes and nose to the applique.
