Crochet Fan Stitch Skirt

Materials

Yarn approx. (recommended for 4mm crochet)

Crochet hook size 4mm

Satin ribbons

Stitch Markers  

Yarn needle 

Scissors

Size: 18 – 24 months

Instructions

Foundation chain multiple of 5.

ROW 1: Make 70 chains and join at the end with a single crochet in first chain in order to start the following row (make sure the chain is not twisted). Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROWS 2 - 12: Make 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row. Directly make 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

Row 12 is the only one that I close with a slip stitch.

ROW 13: Go up with 3 chains, 1 separation chain, miss the next stitch, next stitch make 5 double crochet in the same stitch, 1 separation chain, miss the next stitch, next stitch 1 double crochet. Repeat sequence until end of row. Close row with a slip stitch.

ROWS 14 – 24: Go up with 3 chains, then 1 separation chain and make 5 double crochet in the third stitch of the fan of the previous row. Then 1 separation chain and make 1 double crochet taking the double crochet from the previous row from the front part (front post double crochet). Repeat sequence until end of row. Repeat until end of row 24.  Close each row with a slip stitch.

Cut the yarn.

Top of the belt

ROW 25: 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row.  Close row with a slip stitch.

To decorate

Get the satin ribbon, insert it in row 25, and make a tie.
