Crochet fan stitch summer blouse

Materials

Yarn (recommended for 4.0mm knitting needles)
Crochet hook (size 3.5mm)
Stitch Markers    
Yarn needle 
Scissors

SIZE: L

Foundation chain: Multiple of 9.

Instructions

Row 1 

Foundation chain: chains 135. 

Slip stitch in first chain (make sure chain is not twisted). Go up with 3 chains (this counts as the first double crochet) and make 1 double crochet for each chain stitch. Close row with a slip stitch.

Row 2

Make 2 double crochet, then 2 chains, then miss next 2 chains from the previous row and insert crochet in the third free stitch. Make 2 double crochet on the same stitch, then 1 chain, and then 2 additional double crochet on the same stitch. Make 2 chains and miss next 2 chains from the previous row. Make 2 double crochet. Repeat this motif until the end of the row. Close row with a slip stitch.

Rows 3 – 23

Make 2 double crochet, then 2 chains, then make 2 double crochet in the middle stitch of the previous row’s fan, followed by 1 chain and 2 additional double crochet on the same stitch. Make 2 chains and 1 double crochet in the double crochet of the previous row, and 1 double crochet in the following stitch. Repeat this motif until the end of the row. Close each row with a slip stitch.

Locate the ends of the knit and mark them with a stitch markers in order to divide the blouse’s front part from the back part and knit each part separately.

Front of the blouse

Rows 24 – 33: Make 2 double crochet, then 2 chains, then 2 double crochet in the middle stitch of the previous row’s fan, followed by 1 chain and 2 additional double crochet on the same stitch, then 2 chains and then 1 double crochet in the double crochet of the previous row, plus 1 double crochet in the next stitch. Repeat the previous motif to end all rows.

Back of the blouse

Repeat rows 24 – 33.

Shoulders

Locate top and the back of the blouse, sew the shoulder part at the corner of the knit, miss 2  motif and sew the tip of the fan, then skip 1 motif  and sew the tip.
Repeat the same from the other side of the shoulder.

Sleeves

Make 1 double crochet around the edge of the sleeve.
Do the same for the other sleeve.
