How to Crochet a Hat - Women's Cap

Materials

Yarn (recommended for 4mm crochet)

Crochet hook (size 3.5mm)

Stitch Markers  

Buttons

Yarn needle 

Scissors

Instructions

ROW 1: Magic ring of 12 double crochet.

ROW 2: 1 increase for each stitch of the previous row.

ROW 3: 1 double crochet and 1 increase (take 1 loop, insert in the following stitch, extract yarn, close the first 2 in the crochet, take another loop, insert in the same stitch, extract yarn, close the first 2 in the crochet and then the following 2, and finally the remaining 2 in the crochet). 

Make another identical one on the same stitch to form 1 increase.

ROW 4: 2 double crochet and 1 increase (take 1 loop, insert in the following stitch, extract yarn, close the first 2 in the crochet, take another loop, insert in the same stitch, extract yarn, close the first 2 in the crochet and then the following 2, and finally the remaining 2 in the crochet). 

Make another identical one on the same stitch to form 1 increase.

ROWS 5 - 9: Take 1 loop, insert in the following stitch, extract yarn, close the first 2 in the crochet, take another loop, insert in the same stitch, extract yarn, close the first 2 in the crochet and then the following 2, and finally the remaining 2 in the crochet).

Repeat until end of rows.

ROW 10 - 11: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row. Repeat until end of rows.   

VISOR

ROW 1: Mark 33 stitches. Make 33 single crochet.

ROW 2: Make 5 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROWS 3 – 8: Make 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row. Repeat until the end of the rows.

Fold the piece at the ends of the visor and sew a button at each end.

Note:

Close each row with a slip stitch.
