How to crochet Car Hat

Materials

Yarn (recommended for 4.0mm crochet)

Crochet hook (size 3.5mm)

Stitch Markers

Size: 1 Year

Instructions

ROW 1: Make 6 single crochet inside magic ring. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 2: Make 1 increase (that is 2 single crochet in the same stitch) for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.

ROW 3: Make 1 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 4: Make 2 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 5: Make 3 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 6: Make 4 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 7: Make 5 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 8: Make 6 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 9: Make 7 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 10: Make 8 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 11: Make 9 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROWS 12 – 31: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows.

Visor

ROW 1: Make 24 single crochet.

ROW 2: Turn the knit around. 3 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 3: 9 single crochet and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROWS 4 – 6: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 7: Make 1 single crochet all around the hat (including visor)

Cut the yarn.

Eyes 

White colour

ROW 1: Make 28 chains and then 1 half double crochet for each stitch of the chain.

ROWS 2 – 5: 1 half double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. 

Repeat until the end of all rows.

ROW 6: 14 double crochet and on next stitch make 1 slip stitch.

Colour change (black) 

ROW 7: 1 single crochet all around. When we get to the stitch where we made the slip stitch in the previous row (row 6) we make a slip stitch too.

Blue Circle (make 2)

ROW 1: Magic ring of 8 single crochet.

ROW 2: 1 increase for each stitch of the previous row.

Sew 1 black button in the middle of the blue circle.

Make another repeating same pattern.

Wheels (make 2)

Red colour

ROW 1: Magic ring of 8 single crochet.

ROW 2: 1 increase for each stitch of the previous row.  

Colour change (black)

ROW 3: 1 single crochet and 1 increase for each stitch of the previous row. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 4: 2 single crochet and 1 increase for each stitch of the previous row. Repeat until the end of the row.

Make another one repeating same pattern.

Assemble the hat

1. Sew eyes in the middle of the white knit.
2. Sew white knit on the hat, above visor.
3. Sew wheels on each side of the hat.
