How to crochet shoes for baby girl with buttons

INSTRUCTIONS

Sole (pink)

ROW 1: Make a chain of 10 and go up with 2 chains. If you are a beginner I recommend that you mark the beginning of the row with stitch markers to remember where you started. However, if you are experienced there is no need to mark it.

Now we continue with 8 half double crochet. The first 2 chains up consist of the first half double crochet (9 in total). In the free stitch I make 5 half double crochet in the same stitch, then 7 half double crochet, and finally 1 triple increase (that is 3 half double crochet in the same stitch).
Close row with a slip stitch.

ROW 2: Go up with 2 chains, 8 half double crochet, 2 Increases, 1 triple increase, 2 increases, 9 half double crochet and 1 triple increase. Close row with a slip stitch.

ROW 3: Go up with 2 chains, 11 half double crochet, 3 increases, 1 triple increase, 3 increases, 12 half double crochet and 1 triple increase. Close row with a slip stitch.

Next stitch

Cut the yarn.

Now we’ve finished the sole.

The sole has to measure 4.5cm wide x 8.5cm long.

Colour change (white)

Remember you can mark the beginning of the row if you so wish …

ROW 4: Make 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row. I’ve now finished row 4 doing single crochet and I’m closing it with a slip stitch.

ROW 5: Go up with 1 chain and 12 single crochet. In the following 15 stitches (mark with stitch markers) make 1 increase for each of them. Then I remove the marker and I make the last increase.
In total I’ve made 15 increases. Keep making single crochet and with the last two stitches of the row make 1 decrease. The decrease consists of taking the following two stitches of the front loop only and closing them at the same time. Close row with a slip stitch.

ROW 6: Go up with 1 chain and 12 single crochet. In the following 30 stitches (mark with stitch markers) make 1 decrease for each 2 stitches (15 decreases in total).

Remember that the decrease consists of taking the following two stitches of the front loop only and closing them at the same time. Continue making 11 single crochet and 1 decrease at the end of the row.  Close row with a slip stitch.

ROW 7: Go up with 1 chain and 12 single crochet. In the following 15 stitches make triple decreases in double crochet (5 triple decreases in double crochet in total).

The triple decrease consists of taking the following three stitches of the front loop only and closing them at the same time making 1 double crochet. We repeat the following three stitches of the front loop only and close them at the same time making 1 double crochet

Continue making single crochet till end of row. Close row with a slip stitch.

ROW 8: Go up with 1 chain, the 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close row with a slip stitch.

We hide the yarn inserting it inside the knit.

Cut the yarn.

The shoe opening measures 6cm.

Locate 3 cm of the upper part of the shoe and insert the crochet to make 10 air chains (the chain measures 4.5cm). Make 6 additional chains, which we insert in stitch 10 of the chain making 1 single crochet and continue making single crochet until the end of the chain. Make a slip stitch in the following stitch (the strip measures 5.2cm in total, including the eyelet).

Sew a button.

Colour change (pink)

• Go up with 1 chain and make 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row. Close row with a slip stitch.

We have now finished the outline of the shoe in pink.

• Now we add a ribbon to the shoe. I’m going to insert the ribbon in a plastic needle with a wide hole. We then insert the needle in the motif and extract it from the other side where we can see the first orifice. The ribbon must remain in the middle.
  I’ve taken approximately 45cm of the satin ribbon. They ribbon’s ends have to remain level. I’m going to insert the needle here and extract it from here. I do the same on the other side. We make a simple knot. We cut the ribbon excess, being careful they remain level, and we burn the ribbon tip for a better finish.

The total height of the shoe is 2.5cm.

Repeat steps for other shoe.
