Women’s Bolero
Crochet Cardigan Shrug
Materials
Yarn (recommended for 4.0mm knitting needles)
Crochet hook (size 3mm)
Satin Ribbon 6mm wide
Stitch Markers
Yarn needle
Scissors
Size: M - L
Instructions
Back of the Shrug
Make 100 chains
ROW 1: 1 double crochet for each stitch of the chain.
ROW 2: Make 2 double crochet and take a loop, then in the next
stitch insert and take out the crochet from the same stitch, then insert again
the crochet in the same stitch and take out the yarn. Then again take a loop,
insert and take out the crochet from the same stitch. In the crochet there must
be 7, we closet the first 6 and then the remaining 2. Make 2 double crochet, 1
air chain, miss 1 stitch and make a double crochet in the following stitch.
Make 1 air chain, miss 1 stitch, make a double crochet, 1 air chain. Repeat
sequence until end of the row.
This is the motif.
Repeat motif of row 1-2 15 more times for a total of 16.
- Count 30 stitches and mark
stitch 30 with a stitch marker. Count 40 stitches and mark stitch 40 with
a stitch marker (part of the neck). In the rest of the knit there are 30
stitches left.
Front part of the Shrug
- In the section of the knit where
we mark the 30 stitches start building the motifs that form rows 1-2,
until we have a total of 15 motifs.
- 1 row of double crochet.
Repeat the previous pattern on the other side of the Shrug
(where we mark the other 30 stitches)
Note: The 40 stitches are left with no
knitting (part of the neck)
Sleeve holes
- Count 9 motifs and then with the
remaining motifs join front and back with a single crochet.
- Make a single crochet on the
edge of the sleeves.
Edge of the Shrug of front part (including neck)
- Go up with 3 chains, insert
crochet in the following stitch with slip stitch. Go up 3 chains and
insert crochet in the following stitch with slip stitch. Repeat until end
of edge.
Insert ribbon from last row of the Shrug and make a knot.
You can also insert a button instead of the ribbon.
