Braided crochet summer blouse

Materials

Yarn (recommended for 4.0mm knitting needles)

Crochet hook (size 3.5mm)

Stitch Markers

Instructions

ROW 1: chains 150.

Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROWS 2 – 7: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows.

Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

Row 7 is the only one that I close with a slip stitch.

ROW  8: Go up with 3 chains, miss next stitch, make 1 double crochet in the following stitch, miss next stitch, make 1 double crochet in the following stitch, go back and make 1 double crochet in the second free stitch, make 1 double crochet in the free stitch in the middle of the 2 double crochet. 3 separation chains, miss 2 stitches, insert crochet in the third stitch make 1 double crochet. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROWS 9 – 30: Go up with 3 chains, miss next stitch, make 1 double crochet in the following stitch, miss next stitch, make 1 double crochet in the following stitch, go back and make 1 double crochet in the first free stitch, make 1 double crochet in the free stitch in the middle of the 2 double crochet. 3 separation chains, insert crochet in the second stitch of the braid of the previous row and make 1 double crochet, miss 1 stitch and make 1 double crochet in the next one. Go back and insert the crochet in the first stitch of the braid of the previous row and make 1 double crochet. Then make 1 double crochet in the free stitch between the following 2 double crochet. Repeat till the end of all rows.

Locate the ends of the knit and mark them with stitch markers in order to divide the blouse’s front from the back and knit each part separately.

ROWS 31 – 41: Make the first braid of each row as follows: go up with 3 chains, miss the next stitch, make 1 double crochet in the following stitch, go back and make 1 double crochet in the middle of the 2 double crochet, and finally make 1 double crochet in the next stitch.

In the following stitches of each row repeat sequence starting from row 9.

Back of the blouse

Repeat rows 31 – 41.

Shoulders

·     Locate 3 braids in the upper part of the shoulders, join the front with the back, and sew them.

·     Repeat the same from the other side of the shoulder.

·     Make 1 single crochet all around the neck.

Lower part of the blouse

ROW 1: 5 separation chains, miss 2 stitches and insert crochet with slip stitch in third stitch. Go up with 5 chains, miss 2 stitches and insert crochet with slip stitch in the third stitch. Repeat sequence till end of the row.

ROW 2: 5 separation chains, insert crochet in the third stitch of the chain that forms the arch and make 1 slip stitch. 5 separation chains, insert crochet in the middle of the 2 arches and make 1 slip stitch. Repeat sequence till the end of the row.
