Crochet hat with scarf and mittens
inspired by Hello Kitty
Materials
Yarn (recommended for crochet
4mm)
Crochet hook (size 4mm) to make
hat and ears
Crochet hook (size 3.5mm) to make
eyes and nose

Instructions
ROW 1: Make 6 single crochet
inside magic ring. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the
following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.
ROW 2: Make 1 increase (that is 2
single crochet in the same stitch) for each stitch of the previous row until
the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the
following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.
ROW 3: Make 1 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in
order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch
marker.
ROW 4: Make 2 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in
order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch
marker.
ROW 5: Make 3 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in
order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch
marker.
ROW 6: Make 4 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in
order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch
marker.
ROW 7: Make 5 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in
order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch
marker.
ROW 8: Make 6 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in
order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch
marker.
ROW 9: Make 7 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in
order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch
marker.
ROW 10: Make 8 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in
order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch
marker.
ROW 11: Make 9 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in
order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch
marker.
ROW 12: Make 10 single crochet
and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet
in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a
stitch marker.
ROW 13: Make 11 single crochet
and 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet
in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a
stitch marker.
ROWS 14 – 30: 1 single crochet
for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Repeat until the
end of the rows. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in order to start each
following row. Mark the beginning of each row with a stitch marker.
Now we’ve finished row 30.
Row 30 is the only one that I
close with a slip stitch.
Cut the yarn.
Hat ears, Scarf and Mittens
ROW 1: Mark 22 stitches at each
side. Make 22 single crochet.
ROW 2: Go up with 1 chain, 1 decrease,
keep making single crochet and at the end of the row 1 decrease.
ROW 3: Go up with 1 chain, 1 decrease,
keep making single crochet and at the end of the row 1 decrease.
ROW 4: Go up with 1 chain, 1 decrease,
keep making single crochet and at the end of the row 1 decrease.
ROWS 5 – 93: Go up with 1 chain, 1
single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.
Repeat until the end of the rows. Mark row 93.
ROWS 94 – 118: Go up with 1
chain, 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of
the row. Repeat until the end of the rows.
To form the mittens
1. Fold the pieces in the row number 93 to make
the mittens
2. Join
the pieces with a single crochet, so that the mittens are formed, and continue
making single crochet around the scarf, including the hat.
Part of the face
Eyes (use 3.5mm crochet)
ROW 1: Make 6
single crochet inside magic ring. Close each row with a slip stitch.
ROW 2: Make 1
increase (that is 2 single crochet in the same stitch) for each stitch of the
previous row until the end of the row. Close each row with a slip stitch.
Make another
eye repeating the same pattern.
Nose (use 3.5mm crochet)
ROW 1: Make 1
chain of 6.
ROW 2: Go up
with 1 chain, 5 single crochet, 1 triple increase, 4 single crochet, 1 increase.
Close each row with a slip stitch.
ROW 3: Go up
with 1 chain, 6 single crochet, 1 triple increase, 6 single crochet, 1 increase.
Close each row with a slip stitch.
Cut the yarn.
Ears
ROW 1: Make 6
single crochet inside magic ring.
ROW 2: Directly
Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning
of the row with a stitch marker. 1 single crochet - 1 increase. Repeat until
the end of the row.
ROW 3:
Directly Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the
beginning of the row with a stitch marker. 2 single crochet - 1 increase. Repeat until
the end of the row.
ROW 4: Directly
Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning
of the row with a stitch marker. 3 single crochet - 1 increase. Repeat until
the end of the row.
ROW 5: Directly
Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning
of the row with a stitch marker. 3 single crochet, 2 increases, 5 single
crochet, 2 increases, 3 single crochet.
ROW 6: Directly
Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning
of the row with a stitch marker. 4 single crochet, 1 increase, 9 single
crochet, 1 increase, 4 single crochet.
ROW 7: Directly
Knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning
of the row with a stitch marker. 5 single crochet, 1 increase, 9 single
crochet, 1 increase, 5 single crochet.
ROWS 8 – 9: Directly
Knit 1 single crochet in order to start each following row. Mark the beginning
of each row with a stitch marker. 1 single crochet for each stitch of the
previous row until the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows.
Row 9 is the
only one that I close with a slip stitch.
Cut the yarn.
Make another ear
repeating the same pattern.
Bow
(4.0mm crochet) – make 3 bows
ROW 1: Make 1
chain of 24.
ROW 2: 24 single
crochet.
ROW 3: Go up
with 1 chain, 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the
end of the row.
ROWS 4 – 10: 1
single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.
Repeat until the end of the rows.

Make 10 chains and make 10 single crochet. Cut
the yarn.
·
Join the piece with single crochet.
·
With a needle sew up to the other end of the
piece while pressing the yarn.
·
Make a couple of rows with the yarn in the
middle of the bow.
·
Put the 10 single crochet piece in the centre of
the bow and sew it from the back of the bow.
Assemble the hat:
·
Locate and sew the ears, the eyes and the nose into
the hat
·
Sew a bow next to the ear and the other two bows
in each mittens
·
Make 3 moustaches with black wool on each side
of the face
