How to
crochet bear footprints mittens
Materials
Grey yarn (recommended for crochet 4mm)
Black yarn (recommended for crochet 4mm)
Crochet hook (size 3.5mm) to crochet mittens
Crochet hook (size 3.0mm) to crochet the double crochet part
(Rows 19 and 20)
Crochet hook (size 2.5mm) to make the footprints
Stitch Markers
Yarn needle
Scissors
Size: 1 - 2 years
Instructions
ROW 1: Make 6 single crochet
inside magic ring. Directly make 1 single crochet in order to start the
following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.
ROW 2: Make 1 increase (that is 2
single crochet in the same stitch) for each stitch of the previous row until
the end of the row. Directly make 1 single crochet in order to start the row.
Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.
ROW 3: Make 1 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly make 1 single crochet in
order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch
marker.
ROW 4: Make 2 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly make 1 single crochet in
order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch
marker.
ROW 5: Make 3 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly make 1 single crochet in
order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch
marker.
ROWS 6 – 18: Make 1 single
crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Repeat
until the end of the rows. Directly make 1 single crochet in order to start
each following row. Mark the beginning of each row with a stitch marker.
Now we’ve finished row 18.
It’s the only one that I close
with a slip stitch.
Rows 19 and 20: Do them with 3.0
mm crochet.
ROW 19: Go up with 3 chains, 1
double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.
Close the row with a slip stitch.
ROW 20: Go up with 3 chains. Make
1 double crochet taking the double crochet from the previous row from the front
part (front post double crochet). Make a double crochet taking the double
crochet from the previous row from the back part (back post double crochet). Repeat
until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch.
Cut the yarn.
Cord

Take 2 strands of grey yarn (30 cm each)

Make a knot at the tip
·
Weave the strands of yarn
·
Make a final knot
·
Insert the cord in the double crochet (row 19
and 20)
Footprints
Use black yarn with 2.5mm crochet
For small circles
·
Make 3 magic ring of 4 single crochet each
For the big circle
ROW 1: Make 6 single crochet
inside magic ring. Close the row with a slip stitch.
ROW 2: Make 1 increase (that is 2
single crochet in the same stitch) for each stitch of the previous row until
the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch.
ROW 3: Make 1 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch.
ROW 4: Make 2 single crochet and
1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch.
To assemble the mittens:
