How to crochet vest for boys

Materials

Yarn (recommended for crochet 4mm)

Crochet hook size 4mm

Stitch marker

Yarn needle

Scissors

Size: 3 years

Instructions

Foundation chain: Multiple of 10.

ROW 1: Make 100 chains slip stitch in first chain (make sure chain is not twisted). Go up with 3 chains (this counts as the first double crochet). 1 double crochet for each stitch of the chain.  Close the row with a slip stitch.    

     

ROW 2: Go up with 3 chains. Make 1 double crochet taking the double crochet from the previous row from the front part (front post double crochet). Make 1 double crochet taking the double crochet from the previous row from the back part (back post double crochet). Repeat until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch. 

ROW 3: Go up with 3 chains. Make 1 double crochet taking the double crochet from the previous row from the back part (back post double crochet). Make 1 double crochet taking the double crochet from the previous row from the front part (front post double crochet). Repeat until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch. 

ROWS 4 – 5: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close each row with a slip stitch.

ROW 6: Go up with 3 chains, 9 double crochet, 10 double treble crochet taking the double crochet from the second previous row from the back part (back post double crochet). 10 double crochet, 10 double treble crochet, taking the double crochet from the second previous row from the back part (back post double crochet). Keep making double crochet until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch. 

ROW 7: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch.

ROW 8: Repeat the row number 6.

ROW 9: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch.

ROW 10: Repeat the row number 6.

ROW 11: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch.

ROW 12: Go up with 3 chains, 9 double crochet, 10 double treble crochet taking the double crochet from the second previous row from the front part, 10 double crochet, 10 double treble crochet, taking the double crochet from the second previous row from the front part, Keep making double crochet until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch.

ROW 13: Go up with 3 chains, 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch.

ROW 14: Repeat the row number 12.

ROW 15: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch.

ROW 16: Repeat the row number 12.

ROW 17: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch.

ROW 18: Repeat the row number 12.

ROW 19: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Close the row with a slip stitch.

Divide knit to make hole in the sleeves: 50 stitches to make the front part.

ROW 20: Go up with 3 chains, 2 decreases, 5 double crochet, 10 double treble crochet taking the from the second previous row from the front part, 10 double crochet, 10 double treble crochet taking the from the second previous row from the front part, 6 double crochet, 2 decreases.

ROW 21: Go up with 3 chains, 2 decreases, Keep making double crochet and with the last 4 stitches of the row make 2 decreases.

ROW 22: Go up with 3 chains, 1 decrease, 3 double crochet, 10 double treble crochet taking the from the second previous row from the front part, 10 double crochet, 10 double treble crochet taking the from the second previous row from the front part, Keep making double crochet and with the last 2 stitches of the row make 1 decrease.

ROW 23: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.

ROW 24: Make double crochet, 10 double treble crochet taking the from the second previous row  from the front part, 10 double crochet, 10 double treble crochet taking the from the second previous row from the front part, keep making double crochet until the end of the row.

ROW 25: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.

ROW 26: Repeat the row number 24.

ROW 27: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.

Neck

ROW 28: Make double crochet, 10 double crochet triples taking the form the second previous row from the front part.

ROW 29: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.

ROW 30: Repeat the row number 28.

ROW 31: Go up with 3 chains. 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.

Put yarn on the other side and repeat on the other side of the neck from row 28 to 31. Leave the 10 stitches in the middle without knitting.

Back

ROWS 20 – 21: Go up with 3 chains, 2 decreases, keep making double crochet and with the last 4 stitches of the row make 2 decreases

ROW 22: Go up with 3 chains, 1 decrease, Keep making double crochet and with the last 2 stitches of the row make 1 decrease.

ROWS 23 – 31: Go up with 3 chains, 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows.

•             Make single crochet to join the shoulders (front part with the back part)

•             Make single crochet around the entire contour of the holes in the sleeves. Close the row with a slip stitch.
