Instructions

Note: Cross stitch in double crochet - make 1 double crochet, go back and make another double crochet.

ROW 1: chains 144

ROW 2: Go up with 3 chains, 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row.

ROWS 3 – 6: Go up with 3 chains, 11 double crochet, 12 separation chains, miss 12 stitches, make double crochet. When you are 24 stitches away make 12 separation chains and miss 12 stitches, make 12 double crochet. Repeat until the end of the rows.

ROWS 7 – 26: Go up with 3 chains, 3 double crochet, miss next stitch, make 1 double crochet in the following stitch, go back and make 1 double crochet. Repeat sequence until you are 4 stitches away, make double crochet with each stitch.

Repeat until the end of the rows.

Mark stitches 36 -72 - 36 

Front of the Cardigan

ROW 27: Go up with 3 chains, 3 double crochet, make cross stitch in double crochet. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 28: Go up with 3 chains, 1 double crochet, make cross stitch in double crochet, Repeat sequence until you are 4 stitches away, make 2 double crochet, 1 decrease.

ROW 29: Go up with 3 chains, 1 decrease, cross stitch in double crochet. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 30: Go up with 3 chains, 1 double crochet, cross stitch in double crochet. Repeat sequence until you are 2 stitches away, make 1 decrease.

ROW 31: Go up with 3 chains, 1 decrease, cross stitch in double crochet.  Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 32: Go up with 3 chains, 1 double crochet, cross stitch in double crochet. Repeat sequence until you are 2 stitches away, make  1 decrease.

ROW 33: Go up with 3 chains, 1 decrease, cross stitch in double crochet. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROW 34: Go up with 3 chains, 1 double crochet, cross stitch in double crochet. Repeat sequence until you are 2 stitches away, make 1 decrease.

ROW 35: Go up with 3 chains, 1 decrease, cross stitch in double crochet. Repeat until the end of the row.

ROWS 36 – 39: Go up with 3 chains, 1 double crochet, cross stitch in double crochet. Repeat until the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows.  

Cut the yarn.

Repeat same pattern on the other side of the front.

Back of the Cardigan

ROWS 27 – 39: Go up with 3 chains, 1 double crochet, cross stitch en double crochet. Repeat until the end of the rows.   

Cut the yarn.

·     Join the shoulder sides with single crochet.

To finish the motif of the lower part of the cardigan:

·     Take the three chains and join them using needle and yarn.

·     Use same procedure to finish the motif on the other side.

Sleeves

ROWS 1 – 25: Go up with 3 chains, cross stitch en double crochet. Repeat until the end of the rows.  Close each row with a slip stitch.

ROW 26: Go up with 3 chains, decrease across the whole row. Close row with a slip stitch.

ROW 27: Go up with 3 chains (this counts as the first double crochet) and 1 decrease across the whole row. Close row with a slip stitch.

ROW 28: Go up with 3 chains and make 1 double crochet for each stitch of the previous row.  Close row with a slip stitch.

Do the same for the other sleeve.

•     Sew the buttons.
