Materials

Yarn (recommended for 4.0mm crochet)

Crochet hook (size 3mm)

Satin ribbon

Eyes

Synthetic cotton to fill

Stitch Markers 

Yarn needle

Scissors

 


Instructions

Head     

ROW 1: Make 6 single crochet inside magic ring. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 2: Make 1 increase (that is 2 single crochet in the same stitch) for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 3: Make 1 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 4: Make 2 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 5: Make 3 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 6: Make 4 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 7: Make 5 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROWS 8 – 12: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of each row with a stitch marker.

ROW 13: Make 5 single crochet plus 1 decrease. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 14: Make 4 single crochet plus 1 decrease. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 15: Make 3 single crochet plus 1 decrease. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 16: Make 2 single crochet plus 1 decrease. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

Fill the head with synthetic cotton.

ROW 17: Make 1 single crochet plus 1 decrease. Repeat until the end of the row. ROW 18: Make decreases until the end of the row.

Cut the yarn.

Snout

ROW 1: Make 6 single crochet inside magic ring. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 2: Make 1 increase (that is 2 single crochet in the same stitch) for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 3: Make 1 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 4: Make 2 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 5: Make 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Directly Knit 1 single crochet in order to start each following row. Mark the beginning of each row with a stitch marker.

ROW 6: Make 3 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 7: Make 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.

Fill the snout with synthetic cotton and sew to the head.

Cut the yarn.

Nose

ROW 1: Make 1 chain of 7 and make 7 Single crochet.

ROW 2: Go up with 1 chain, 1 decrease, keep making single crochet and with the last 2 stitches of the row make 1 decrease.

ROW 3: Go up with 1 chain and make 2 decreases.

ROW 4: Go up with 1 chain and make 1 decrease.

ROW 5: To finish the base, go all around the nose making 1 single crochet for each stitch. Close the row with a slip stitch.

Sew the nose to the snout and make the smile design.

Ears (2)

ROW 1: Make 6 single crochet inside magic ring. Do not close the magic ring.

ROW 2: Go up with 2 chains, make 1 half double crochet in the same stitch, make 1 increase for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.

ROW 3: Make 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row.

Make another ear repeating the same pattern.

Glue eyes to the bear's head.

Sew the ears to the head.

Body

ROW 1: Make 8 single crochet inside magic ring. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 2: Make 1 increase (that is 2 single crochet in the same stitch) for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 3: Make 1 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 4: Make 2 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 5: Make 3 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

Fill the body with synthetic cotton

ROW 21: Make decreases until the end of the row.

Arms (make 2)

ROW 1: Make 6 single crochet inside magic ring. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 2: Make 1 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROWS 3 – 15: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows.

Make another arm repeating the same pattern.

Legs (make 2)

Colour red

ROW 1: Make 6 single crochet inside magic ring. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 2: Make 1 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

Colour change

ROW 4: Make 3 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 5: Make 4 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 6: Make 5 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 7: Make 6 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 12: Make 4 single crochet plus 1 decrease. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROWS 13 – 19: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows.

Make another Leg repeating the same pattern.

Fill the legs and arms with synthetic cotton.

Flower

1.                  Make 6 single crochet inside magic ring. Close with a slip stitch.

2.                  Go up with 3 chains (this counts as the first double crochet), 2 double crochet in the same stitch, make 1 chain and insert it into the next stitch and make 1 slip stitch. Go up with 3 chains, make 2 double crochet in the same stitch, make 1 chain and insert it into the next stitch and make 1 slip stitch. Repeat until the end of the row.

Hat

ROW 1: Make 8 single crochet inside magic ring. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 2: Make 1 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 3: Make 2 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROW 4: Make 3 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROWS 5 – 9: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of each row with a stitch marker.

ROW 10: Make 1 single crochet plus 1 increase. Repeat until the end of the row. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of the row with a stitch marker.

ROWS 11 – 12: 1 single crochet for each stitch of the previous row until the end of the row. Repeat until the end of the rows. Directly knit 1 single crochet in order to start the following row. Mark the beginning of each row with a stitch marker. Row 12 is the only one that I close with a slip stitch. 

Cut the yarn.

Finishing the bear

1. Sew the head to the body.

2. Sew the arms and legs to the body.

3. Sew the flower to the ear of the smaller bear.

4. Put a ribbon around the neck of the smaller bear and make a bow.

5. Put the hat on the ear of the bigger bear.

Note: Make 2 bears. Knit one bear with 3.5mm crochet and another one with 3.0mm crochet. The bigger bear will be the male and the smaller will be the female.
